On April 24, 2023, a fire broke out due to a short circuit in a multi-storey building located in front of Rangoli Mall in Howrah Belur. The building was home to a small factory that produced bracelets and earrings. Residents in the area were frightened by the flames and quickly fled their homes, seeking safety downstairs.
Fortunately, the Howrah Belur Fire Department responded quickly to the scene with a fire engine and managed to control the blaze in just half an hour. Thanks to their swift action, the fire did not spread to neighboring buildings, and no one was harmed in the incident.
The cause of the short circuit is currently under investigation, and it is not yet clear how much damage was done to the factory or the building itself.
